The NFL Life Skills Program is about the game, not just the skills, said Gary S. Boudreau, director of the NFL Life Sciences program.
“It’s about how you go about learning to do things on your own,” he said.
Bouton said the program is about creating a bond with someone new.
“You learn to become comfortable with the person, you get to know them a little bit better,” he told ESPN.
“And then you have a chance to do a little thing together that is very rewarding and fun and really builds your relationship with the people you’re with.”
Bouton, who is also a senior associate with the University of Maryland, said the life skills approach is different from traditional programs.
“We have a lot of people in the NFL that have been in this life skills way longer,” he explained.
“The life skills are more about learning how to make things in your own life.”
The program has grown from a handful of people to more than 100,000 people in 11 different sports, Bouderson said.
The program has also grown in popularity.
Boutson said there are now around 2.5 million active players in the program, and the NFL has expanded it to encompass all levels of the sport.
Boutson added that the NFL’s life skills training is geared toward a wide variety of players, not limited to quarterbacks and running backs.
“There’s a lot more people that can play,” he added.
It has a wide range of skill levels, from those who can play quarterback and tackle to those who could play cornerback, linebacker, wide receiver, wide receivers and defensive backs. “
As a result, the program has attracted a large and loyal following.

He also said the NFL is trying to be a positive influence in the lives of the people it teaches. “
There are some things that you need to learn in order to be able to go play football,” Boudette said.

“These are the same folks that are going to have kids and they are going see those kids and tell them they can play football and they can have these skills and then when they turn 16 they can go play a football game,” he laughed.
The NFL Life Science program is part of the university’s Life Sciences department, which includes the Bioengineering program and the Engineering program.
As part of that, the university recently opened the program in a large, outdoor building in Annapolis, the largest indoor facility in the U.S.
